    Subwoofer location

    Question
i just finished installing my stereo system. But yet to find a home for the 12" sub.
I hooked it up and placed the box in several locations including on the nose of the bow
And several other locations. The one location that sounds the best was behind the rear bench seat which is technically in the engine compartment.
let me know your thoughts on this.
I plan on making a custom box when I decide where to put the sub

You have an enclosed engine compartment? I would think under the bow would sound good, but you got to go with what sounds good to you.

Yes I have an enclosed engine compartment and for some reason it has alot of wasted space. That is why i thought about mounting a small box to the back of the seat.

yeah I'm still toying with where to put my 2-10" subs. 454_blueboat suggested under the bow which I think is the best and safest spot since they are just regular car subs, not marine. Not to mention the acoustics will cause the sound to amplify as well. I will have 6x9s in the seat bases and some tweeters probably in the bulkhead near the driver and passenger...possibly have 6x9s in the side panels too. I haven't decided yet. I bought my amps so I have 2500 watts to play with.
