    Question Opinion on SWTD hulls

What is everyones opinion on South Wind Tunnel Dragster hulls? I have a guy with one locally that is in quite good shape, but I know little about these Southwind hulls.

Some questions...what do they generally weigh?
What kind of speeds can you achieve with them? (18-19ft)
and of course...in general are they any good?

Also, this guy says it is a 1985 but I am having much trouble finding anything above 81, was there ever any 85s?
Another question, it has Sonny Leonard written on it and thats what it was called by the owner, a Sonny Leonard Tunnel Dragster, not South Wind.
But i am pretty much sure it is Southwind as its the exact same hull as South Wind and Sonny Leonard comes up with a guy/company who builds engines.

I heard Laddie hated Rooster tails and jet boats? Have you & Dave not ganged up on him yet to beat some sense into him? If he's too fast, I can loan you a dirt bike to chase him down with, just make em hurt!! Haha...on a serious note, I mean't the SWTDs.

(this is partially in reply to your last reply on my other thread)

The guy I've found wants $5,000 for his. No engine, but wiring is there, drives there, everything's there besides engine. Come's with the trailer the boat came with too. It was in pretty good condition.

Only thing is it looks like a South Wind and all but hes calling it a Sonny Leonard brand name boat and said it's registered as such? Did a Sonny Leonard ever build boats? On a quick search I found Sonny Leonard engines and all, but nothing on boats.

Not a bad price SWTD less power if its in good shape. All of the molds for those boats were sold and could be marketed on a different name. Check the HIN# for facts. There is a build thread on here right now building a semi vee using an original mold

So I asked him to send a picture of the HIN # on the boat, he sent it but it's rivoted onto it. Is that unusual/common/bad sign? Can that even be done? Isn't it supposed to be stamped onto it?

Edit: OK after further inspection I have determined for myself that it's actually more common to be done like that than the way I was thinking.
