Trying to revive the stereo in the CV23

I went to Frys this morning to buy some "marine speakers" to replace the blown ones I have now. My problem is I know nothing about amps, subs, rms out put & number of channels, let alone anything about bridges? These are the questions the sales person said I needed to know before I can buy speakers.

Below is a couple of links showing the actual stereo unit & amplifier mounted in the boat now. My question is what watt rating speakers do I need to run 4 speakers, 2 mounted in the front of the motor box & 2 under the bow? Don't need concert hall quality, just want to listen to my oldies but goodies while floating in the cove. Thanks....-Rich

    Hi Rich,
sounds like the pin head is try to flex his knowledge of electronic products. Just tell them you need 4 speakers for 200 watts rms 4 channel system . That should be fine. Co-axial speakers are best for the outdoors. Dean

I had to go back & edit the links. The amp is rated at 125w x 2 & 500w x 2 max output.

Maybe this will help, I kind of agree with what Dean said but I always ran bigger watts on my speakers than I needed just to be safe.
