    its just preference. most aftermarket intakes won't even seal with the valley pan. I use edelbrock gaskets and black rtv on the ends.

    The one I went with is a melonized gear I got from Summit racing. The steel one you got might be good also. The melonized ones are the ones the factory uses in there roller engines.

    Just make sure the gear on the distributer is for the roller cams or the roller cam will eat your distributer gear and spread metal all over your engine.

    You shouldn't have to, the coupler usually take the place if the torque converter and those have not changed.

    Yes Vortec will bolt right up and make you happy, that is what I have in my boat.
    The vortec is a one piece ear main seal, roller cam engine. The fly wheel/flex plate might be different.
