    Re: Exhaust issue

Logs in and of themselves are quite restrictive performance wise. The reason that the factory uses them is for packaging convenience and liability. OT headers are always the best bet for performance....

    Re: Starter problems Ford 460

You'll have to disconnect the boat wiring harness from the coil positive and negative before testing.

    Re: Starter problems Ford 460

Hook the positive to 12 volts and with the high tension lead hooked to a spark plug and grounded, flash the negative side of the coil to ground and you should get a spark at the plug every time you...

    Re: Ford 460 Help

About the only experience that I have with Ford diesels is with the power stroke engines...and I'm pretty sure that they take the 460 flex plates. I helped a buddy change one out on his work truck. I...
  8. Re: Using Electric driven water pumps???

I've run the Moroso electric pumps on a street/strip pickup before without any problems, of course that was with a 3 core radiator.....

    Re: Custom cooling !!

A gate valve works just fine, just make sure the discharge end of the system is as large or larger than the inlet so it doesn't build pressure. Use the gate valve to regulate flow.

  10. Re: Using Electric driven water pumps???

Dean, I'm pretty sure that the automotive style electric pumps may not be able to lift the water up to the engine height. They're more pushers.....I think. You got me curious now lol.

    Re: Ford 460 Help

The flex plate that you've pictured is for an externally balanced set up (note the weight welded on) and needs to be used in conjunction with the 'hatchet weight' that's located behind the front...

Re: Ford 460 Marine Fuel Pump

Realistically I don't see why a regular pump couldn't be drilled and tapped for the fitting, all that's for is so that if the diaphragm were to rupture it wouldn't pump fuel into the bilge....regular...

    Re: Cam timing advance?

My first thought is fuel being lean at that RPM/throttle opening. If it were me I'd put a wide band O2 meter in the logs and read it at different throttle openings/load situation. It very well may be...
