    Re: Distributor Help Needed

I replaced the rotor and she ran fine after that. I did get info from Pertronix that they don't make a kit for the 7025 dizzy. I'll pick up a billet Pertronix dizzy over the winter for her.

    Distributor Help Needed

Fired up the CV-23 yesterday (only the 2nd time this year). She was backfiring through the carb, running very rough. I checked timing, and at idle it was showing 40-60*, would promptly die at <30*....

Re: Exhaust options for Ford 460

For stock manifolds those are your best bet ... unless you're using tall covers. I've read they won't clear the top of the valve covers. For tall valve covers, the next best (for power) option;...

I store both floats at home, tow back and forth.
Blue Mesa is a nice lake. Dragging the boat over Monarch pass sucks. Last time I was boating there I had a Wellcraft Nova II; 26' offshore cuddy;...

    Re: Colorado Lakes

Pueblo is probably the best. Many coves to hang out in. The only thing really lacking is a good bar/restaurant. The North Marina has a grill, and their food is decent. We don't hit the North...

Is that port seat original? Mine is similar, but has a hidden jump seat which yields more room if it isn't needed.

Re: Oil viscosity for vintage jet boat engine

I run 9qts of straight dino 10W30 plus a bottle of ZDDP or break-in additive in my 466ci BBF; I only use high quality Wix oil filters, no Fram garbage. When I killed #8 rod bearing and the rear...

    Re: Top Mount Starter Parts

Unfortunately not an option for me. The stringers are only 22" apart in the CV-23, which leaves not enough room to get a standard mount starter in/out without pulling the engine, or cutting a...

    Top Mount Starter Parts

    Hey All
Am finally getting the CV-23 ready for the water this year. Decided to remove the Stealth 8021 and install the original iron 429CJ/SCJ intake, which should yield much higher velocity...

Re: Who is running a Armando 460 jet boat pan?

I run 9 total with an Armando's pan. When I did the minor rebuild/repair last year I cut out a small section of the windage tray for the dipstick; worked great, no more struggling with it.

    Re: ADJUSTING HYD LIFTERS

When I did my 460, I set the lifter in a cup of oil, actuated the plunger multiple times until it was pumped up just before installing it. I also primed the oil pump for about every pair of lifters...

    Re: Ford 460 Help

If the 460 was fuel injected, it has an externally balanced crank (assuming it is original). If that flexplate has no weights, it is for an internally balanced crank.
    I replaced my external balance...

I don't run one on the current BBF, but did run one on my last jet (454) and it worked great. Just make sure you use a system designed for the application.

    Re: 460 oil pan capacity

I have a 460 with an Armando's 10qt pan; JBP rail mount kit; should work fine with the 4-pt mounts. Def won't work with the factory mounts/lower brace. The pan took 5-6wks to receive once ordered.

    Re: Wyoming Get together

What about Glendo? I'm planning 4-5days there next summer, probably in June because the channels behind the campsites will still be full of water.

Go large; get a rail mount kit from Tom for 460 with top mount starter. :15_8_200v:

Re: New Friend For the Jet

Thanks Dean! It came with an OMC/Johnson 16P SS prop. I put that back on for this weekend, just to verify the engine will pull into the mid 4000's.

Re: New Friend For the Jet

    Thanks Rob!
The book shows 9* at idle, about 30* TA.
