    Re: Experiences with paints/gel coats??

This has been very enlightening. Have there been any updates? I'm thinking that I'm going to wind up repainting my float and have lots of crazy (and some silly) ideas, and want to see how all these...

    Re: Dual Fuel tank woes...

Thank you for your input. Being a pilot I totally understand your logic. maybe I can find an old Cessna fuel selector for my boat, that might look cool.
  3. Re: New here with first boat / project ('72 Roger's Cyclone)

Your project sounds awesome, and a lot like mine. I have the boat in my possession but lack the garage space and extra funding right now to get much/any work done on it. So for now I live...
  4. Re: Austrailia's Version of the White Trash Hood

That's all? Maybe I should get a couple :4_1_72:. I remember seeing those on Top Gear once, and I think they tried to haul hay bales, but I don't remember it being too successful. I'd rather spend...
  5. Re: Austrailia's Version of the White Trash Hood

The Kangaroos are cool and all but I want one of those "trucks." I'm pretty sure a VJB would look real good behind that!

    Re: Insane or genius?

It'd be a great trick for jet skis. Pass them and cover them in a cloud of black smoke and then hit them with the rooster tail while they are blind. Could be totally worth it.

    Re: Insane or genius?

That is a great point about the narrow powerband. It would be sweet to tow skiers at idle with a "tall geared" impeller. I guess that's another crazy idea shot down. Maybe the 6 speed mated to the...

    Re: Insane or genius?

What I got out of that post was that you need to get an impeller to match the power of the engine. Instead of running the engine/impeller at 5500+ rpm, it seems like you'd need a different impeller...

Re: 1980 Miller rebuild. Lots of pics.

That is a great video, with a great explanation/demonstration of why you need to set it up right. Thanks!

    Re: Insane or genius?

Thanks T8er (or should I say, thanks a lot) for giving my idea some legs. I wonder if Tom's rails would still work, if there was a way to fab up some mounts for the motor. Hmmmm. I think this...

    Insane or genius?

I've never been one to be accused of being normal and that causes me to have strange ideas sometimes. I've been thinking VERY hard about the motor set up for my new project and I'm pretty set on the...
  13. Re: want some info on my 1978 eliminator bubbledeck

Probably too late now, but I don't sell it, unless someone offers you an outrageously high price. I used to have a sweet eliminator and I sold it to be responsible and stuff, and regretted it every...

    Re: The Stupid Boat.....

Awesome thread. It gives me hope for my basket case too. I just wish I had a huge shop to put it in to work on it instead of sitting in the horse barn until I have a garage for it. I've been...

    Re: New float/MAJOR project!

I've tried looking up the HIN but there are too many characters. I've haven't gotten to go try and get the paperwork straightened out yet. Luckily I don't plan on it being on the water for a...

    Re: BBF Potential Builds

This seems like as good a place as any for advice on sourcing a BBF for my project. I've been doing research and looking at what's available on craigslist and I need some advice/guidance on what I...

    Anybody going to this?

April 22-25th. I'm not in to huge crowds and lots of morons, but I love people watching and boats so this sounds like a...

Re: Motor Seized up, need info on building a 460

That's a nice looking motor. Thanks for this thread. I'm pretty sure I'm going the BBF route with my boat, and have to source 100% of the engine (and all the other parts) for it so this is great...
  24. For Sale Re: 1978 GALAXIE JET BOAT WITH NEW 429 BIG BLOCK FORD FOR SALE!!! - $9500 TURN KEY!!!

That is a sweet boat! Those videos make me want to go to Montana REAL bad. Maybe when I finally get my heap all put together I'll take it on a road trip.

Thanks Tom for the expert insight. You opened up another can of worms with ride plates and shoes... I think I understand the ride plate but not quite 100% on what a shoe is or does?

    One of these...
