    Re: LS1 reversion question

I'd tend to agree. That 119.5 LSA typically means there isn't much overlap in the intake and exhaust valve cycles. Exhaust reversion happens when the intake opens before the exhaust has closed.

A bit more progress, couple hours at a time...

After looking at the bilge area and how it's open to the area under the seat, we thought that could be a recipe for oily water to make it's way into...
  4. Re: Because the old project was too much of a project, project

I've been slacking off a little on the boat but have managed to do a few other things. I assembled the main jet housing and trial fit it and the engine.

5 months later... Getting closer! Since the floors are foam we decided that trying to screw the throttle and diverter handle directly into them would last about 3 seconds. I hated to do it but...

Crap... welcome to the club I suppose. Trust me when I say in retrospect this is probably a good thing? Not sure that helps at this point but 7 years later I'm happier than I was married :)

Re: Hi ram intake on 460

If you can "try before you buy" I think the tunnel ram will out perform the Performer at 4,500-5,000 RPM. Jet boats don't need the off-idle torque to get moving like a car does so a "top end"...

    Re: 1977 Glastron Carlson CV23

Wow that's about the nicest CV23 I've seen. Not that I've seen many, but wow! Most seem to have a funky stepped front that, to me, is hideous. I always wondered why they didn't slope it like how...

Re: I could spend $100K or,,,

A guy here locally has a sweet 1960-ish V-drive boat. It makes awesome wakes up to about 35-40 MPH. After that... well, we call him Flipper, Flipper... because it will porpoise like mad. Wrong...

Great reminder! Now that you mention it I remember seeing trucks with vents being extended with soft tubing to put the breather up high. Add that to my truck project list!

    Re: Sleekcraft aristocrat

Sounds like you got a great base to start with. One thing about the Thumpr cam is that it has a ton of overlap to get that lumpy sound. If you're running a wet exhaust there could be an issue with...

Re: Oil restricters. when and where

IMHO warm and 40 is a bit high. It's "OK" but not necessary. Once the rest of this oiling issue is worked out you might consider a lower weight multi-viscosity oil.

    I'm a little confused... so...

Re: Oil restricters. when and where

It's normal for pressure to drop as everything heats up. The oil thins and the engine expands which lets the oil flow more easily. How much fade are we talking here? Is it purely temperature...
