Going to pull the engine out of the Carlson this winter to do a few minor touch ups. Was thinking (I do a lot of that) if I should upgrade my 545 to a hydraulic roller cam. The cam I have now does ok and puts a grin on my face, but i want to smile :-) all across the lake. The question is how much is too much? Going roller can I go larger and how much? Current cam specs are:233 / 249 @ .050" lift 113 Lsa 109 ICL HFT IVO is 7.5 BTDC ( - indicates ATDC) IVC is 45.5 ABDC EVO is 61.5 BBDC EVC is 7.5 ATDC ( - indicates BTDC) Overlap is 15 Lift .580" / .600 Engine specs 9.5 compression. Big port DOVE heads with 2.25 - 1.75 valves. Center rise exhaust manifolds. Single 850 DP demon carb on a stealth intake. May upgrade to a high rise air gap intake shown in my profile pic.
