Just a reminder! If you want to order a whole pork butt the ticket must be in by wednsday the 14th. $50 gets you a 8 to 9lb. roast and a pint of secret sauce. (feeds about 15 people)
The best way to order is to go into Sniders but if you cant call Marcee at (801) 272-6469. Tell her your a NUTTZ. She can take a credit card over the phone but its not standard practice and will be only for people we know. There is also a raffle going on, grand prize is a barrel smoker.
If you are really hard core and want to watch the pros work they are starting at about 2 to 3 a.m. in the parking lot at Sniders, cooking for a long time....
Thanks for supporting this event to support our troops! A lot of people are working hard to show how much they care!

Just got off the phone with Marcee... Ordered up a Jason (pork butt) Asked her to call a church or shelter and let them have it.
I also got 4 raffle tickets for the barrel smoker, Marcee said they could deliver that next summer...

What would be nice is to talk to Lindon Marina (especially since it's private) to see if we could get enough people in the valley area for a show and shine to benefit WWP. There are some really nice boats in the valley and a number of circle boat racers. The Gregory's are in South Jordan with 2-3 boats, the Loveless' are in Payson with 3-4 boats, the Faulkner's are in Orem, and the Pauli's are in Ogden. Add to that a number of us hobbyists in the valley with our boats. It wold be good for the marina as well. Be good to have it in the spring before boating season ramps up so as not to interfere with their business.

Maybe get the Idaho Regatta to pitch in and help. It would be good for them as well. Maybe some of the other boating community. LA Performance???

I was talking to Jill about what we'd need for event insurance. If you can find out who they were in contact with from Wounded Warrior Project. We need to get together and see if we can put something together. WWP is one of my favorite organizations!

I believe that if you're not on the water no event insurance is needed... Jill would no for sure though...

Anytime you have any gathering, it's best to have event insurance. If some little brat jumps on a boat and scratches, dings, or breaks anything, guess who would get sued. If some little brat decides to climb up on a boat and they fall off and hurt themselves, guess who gets sued. If someone eats something and gets sick at an event that you've had any part of organizing (everyone that is part of it gets served) guess who gets sued.
Jill is very cautious when it comes to coverage. Event insurance isn't that expensive compared to hiring a lawyer to defend ones self. That's basically what you're paying for, legal fees. Depending on what you have going on, event insurance is relatively cheap. You can take it off the top to cover it. The rest goes to the foundation. Jill was saying somewhere between $3-500 depending on what you have going on. If you do a few of them, you can get a policy for the year for about $1000.
You know that some little turd is going to do something stupid and their useless parents are going to find a lawyer that wants to sue.

Again, it all depends on the level of involvement. If I/we put together something on our own, event insurance would definitely be needed. If we help put boaters together with someone that wants to hold an event, then they would have the insurance issue.
