went out today with my neighbor's boat after tuning it for him and decided to stop by the wooden boat show here in the tahoe keys. Some pretty nice floats showed up...

That's some good stuff right there! Must be nice up to be up there in Tahoe land... I delivered a fair share of lumber to the region during the boom. The guy who told me how to properly varnish the wood trim on my little VJB (as well as contributing a bit of Mahogany) is restoring a 1956 Mercury Saber. I stopped by today to see the progress. His son is working on the 1958 Corvette engine, and I will contribute some polishing know how for the old valve covers.

the boats were incredible. a few of them came out to emerald bay where we had gone to hang. The guy with the red belmont in the pics was asking me about my dad's saying they are even more rare than his. Pretty cool to see all these old boats touring Tahoe.

The Show in Tahoe, is surely some of the finest examples, of those kool boats! I have heard, there is a similar show somewhere back East, where many of the examples are from boat builders East of the Mississippi. Sure would be kool to see a diary of all those kool wooden boats!

Stopped by my buddies place to see the almost finished product. They expect to have the windshield on and all the other details by Father's Day weekend. A similar Saber with the Corvette engine hit 70 MPH with a stainless prop so they are excited to see what she can do.

It inspired me to get the tarp off my own boat and get it ready for the season. Princess has been in a deep sleep all winter.

Hell ya Rob! Your boat always inspires me to get the buffer out and do the little touches to make mine just a little prettier. :) Your friends boat is amazing, wow!

Its a really neat boat but they are the first to admit it is not show quality. They were shooting for resto-quality. For instance, I polished the original stainless rub rail for them but some imperfections remain. Beefy rub rail btw.

Your boat is cleaner top to bottom than mine Jason. Doug, David, and Steve got to see princesses' flaws first hand, but thanks again, we love her.
