Hey guys my names Chris. I'm pretty new to the boat scene but have been around hot rods and race cars since I could see in the engine bay. I don't have a boat yet but do have a motor built and waiting for a hull. 406 sbc 475+hp 525+trq

Hi Chris! Welcome to the forum... :hi:

There are plenty of hulls to be had just looking for an engine that's for sure...
I think one real important thing for you is going to be proper pump set up with that SBC to get it to twist up into it's power curve...

Welcome to the insanity Chris!! I'm in just the opposite predicament. I have a hull in search of an engine once the cruiser leaves.

Does that mean there are still that many uneducated motor heads still out there. Most are getting the word one race at a time. BBC forever:rockwoot:

I'd rather install 2 boat ores in a boat than ford motor at least then I know it would be reliable...

The only reason John Force is sporting a Ford is because they're paying him. That and because he really doesn't have a Ford engine.....Have you noticed what been on the front of his car for some 30+ years??? Same thing that's on the license plate frame on my truck; Don Steves Chevrolet!!!!

I hear Ford engines make great paper weights for your garage floor!!!! :4_1_72:

But they take up less space on the garage than BOATS that DON'T have Motors.... LMFAO :beatdeadhorse:

Hey now, I just got Jill's boat. It has an engine, and it's not on the floor!!! Mine had an engine!!!

I'm shooting for EFI blown Chevy on E85 by next year.:Chevy_anim: EFI, like carbs means less chance of milking the oil, and better tuning through a computer. Till then I'll have to run carbs. Hope to have first test run on carbs in 2 weeks.:drv: Being boat-less on Memorial day was a drag.

So by Sunday afternoon I couldn't take it any more! I hooked up the boat about 5pm, hauled butt to Sac. River! And Proceeded to give myself a 2 hour Thrill! I feel a little better. But could still use a Triple Digit Boat ride, before I head to Shasta Lake, for a week on the water in June!

We sold the wife's Taylor SJ to help finance this boat. So far she hasn't raised too much stink:furious3: about it not being finished, but like me she is ready to get back into our own boat again.:drv:

We spent the weekend on a 22 ft deck boat with some friends having a few beers. I think the fastest pass we made was to the truck to reload the Ice chest, a whopping 34 MPH. I am in desperate need of a triple digit adrenalin rush in the worst way,
