I've been working on my cobra jet boat , And I'm at the point where I need to remove the engine. But I need some help, I'm not sure how to separate the motor from the jet drive with out removing the jet drive. I'm hoping I can leave the leave the jet drive in, if that's possible.

So I could use some help, and any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

The drive line stays connected to the engine and will slide out of the jet, jet stays put. I don't know if you have a cover over your drive line or not but if you do just remove it before you pull the engine. http://www.cpperformance.com/images/Product/large/500-0844.jpg

There are three options. Unbolt the flange from the flex plate, break the u-joint, or the simplest slip the spline gear out of the jet drive by unbolting the engine mounts and pushing the motor forward about 4" then lifting.

ADVOCATE it looks like that will be the way I'm going to go. Thank you very much for your help.

Should be up and running soon. I hope. Lol

Damn thing has a cover. But I'm going to pull the engine and while I'm doing that, I will slide it forward. Wish me luck LOL.

That is the same ujoint connecting my engine to the drive. So while I'm pulling the engine, I will slide it forward. I hope lol.

You may have to push a little once you get it lifted a bit, but yeah it will slide out.
