I am not certain of your case, but the classic Fiat 124 spider uses a similar device called a Guibo. It is a flexible joint in the drive link, not really a U-joint, but reduces vibrations in the drive line. Some Alfa Romero and Mercedes models have them too. Likely nor the crorect size but here is the Fiat version: https://autoricambi.us/collections/driveline/products/drive-shaft-flex-joint-guibo

Yes you will need a small diameter msd distributor to clear the intake. If you're still interested in upgrading your intake, check the reviews for the weiand stealth intake. Its what I'm running on my 545 ford

I had a guy stop in and ask for help indentifying this thing. He didnít have much info for me other than it came out of a 1973 jet boat with a Hamilton pump. He said it was used in place of a universal joint between the pump and engine. Help me out here guys.

If you can "try before you buy" I think the tunnel ram will out perform the Performer at 4,500-5,000 RPM. Jet boats don't need the off-idle torque to get moving like a car does so a "top end" manifold works great w/o affecting low speed.

I’ll just stick with my edelbrock performer intake. The most I want to spin 4500 to 5000.

What is the rpm range of your cam? The high rise intake is 3500 to 8500 rpms. You will need a full race engine huild and a small impeller to spin those numbers. https://www.jegs.com/p/Edelbrock/Edelbrock-Victor-Series-Intake-Manifolds-for-Ford/2379367/10002/-1
