While I'm in the mood for wrenching I've decided to clean up the rat's nest I have for wiring. Going to try my hand at rewiring the engine compartment. Can anybody post a basic wiring diagram for a 460 ford jet boat? Thanks....-Rich

Don't worry dean, as soon as the trailer can travel I will box the frame in and make it Robo trailer. They call 7018 sticky rod for a reason, especially if you are a little rusty. Kregs float will be ready before the floods end 2017!

Lucas makes good products but what motor are you running? I run 50w racing oil with zinc for my old ford.

If motor and pump are as he says it'd be a good buy but $2500 might be a little steep, just going by the condition of the dash. All that really matters is that you dig it.

Long time no post! I have been out of the jet boat world for longer than id care to admit. Between selling our first house and buying the house and property of our dreams I have had very little extra income for fun and excitement… But perhaps that’s all about to change!! I wanted to get all ya’lls opinion on this boat. It’s a 1969 “Glass Ply” with a BBC motor Berkley pump with jetavator on a 1968 trailer titles for both. Apparently the motor was built a couple years ago (Pistons, rings, Knife blade crank, heads, valves” and says there is only 2 hours on it since rebuilt. Also said the pump was rebuilt at the same time by the same shop but again has no paperwork. Just says he can give me the phone number to the guy and talk to him which I plan on doing. Not sure if he would even remember a motor he did from a few years ago but you never know. Said it starts right up stored in a dry boat shed and no soft spots on floors. He says there is no major damage but chips in paint and obviously the car seat has to go! with the info provided what would you guys feel comfortable paying? He is asking $2500 for it. Thanks in advance! Looking to get back in the jet boat world unfortunately even two years into our dream property I need to do it on a budget!! Haha

Hey NUTTZ. So the day has come. No kids at home. Downsizing to a condo in Vegas. Nowhere to easily keep a boat. These all add up to one conclusion: it's time to sell. 1977 21' Tahiti with V-hull. Ford 460. Since I bought it I've had the impeller replaced with a new one, and also replaced the starter motor and alternator. Runs like a dream. At least during the time I've owned it it's never been stored at below-freezing temperatures. Brand new custom-made UV-resistant cover too. I have a pdf version of the Hardin Marine engine manual I can email to you. Trailer is also 1977 and re-bunked last summer. The combo is light enough to tow with a V-6 if you have front-wheel drive for when you pull the boat out of the water (the sudden transfer of weight from the water to the trailer always made my RWD SUV's tires spin out, so of course I needed to go buy a Titan. Duh, right?). Trailer Tires were replaced and are pretty low-mileage. Anyway, pics and video below. Some pics are from when I bought the boat but everything looks the same except for the addition of a small teak deck on the transom with a fold-up ladder. I'll add fresher pics once I get it out of winter storage. Just had the boat detailed for the new season. I didn't shoot the video so I don't know what's up with the sound but she purrs like a kitten. Laddie's been on board, just ask him! The NADA book only goes back to 1979 and says something comparable is $7900 for just the boat and trailer. I'm asking $8500 obo for everything including about $2000 worth of skis, tubes, ropes, toys, and the teak deck. So far you NUTTZ are the only ones I'm advertising to. The boat is stored in Lindon right now and I can take you out on Utah Lake by appointment. Contact me by private message if you're interested, or email to deepdishchad@yahoo.com . On May 1st it goes out on KSL.com and to the full VJB forum. Man, writing this was harder than I thought it was going to be...

I'd just rip it all out and buy one of these... I bought both the vessel side and the engine side from Harden Marine. Very easy and worth the price!!! http://www.hardin-marine.com/c-1230-wiring-harnesses.aspx

Looks like someone hacked the crud out of this deck? I have never seen an open bow version? Anyone else? Its done with nice vinyl work, but doesn't that kind of this weaken the hull integrity unless its layer up with support stringers? What's you though Rigger?

I drove to Seattle last thursday. Glad to report Shasta is 100% full. Still alot of junk floating in the Sacramento arm. At the Doney Creek bridge the water is covering the old bridge and lapping at the pavement of the raised section. You're not going in Doney Cove unless you have a submarine. Gonna be a great year.....Rich

Hey Matt, I have a Wriedt Spoiler , so my front deck is taller & had no problem with a 12" tall tank, I removed that Moeller plastic tank & found a used aluminum triangle tank out of an Avenger 185 jet boat but it's 11.5" tall also, if the one that Sleek has is 10" tall you could have a radiator shop move the filler neck to wherever you want, I understand you just have a short space to work in, Your best bet is to probably have an aluminum tank made, that way you might be able to make it longer & get some more fuel capacity I know that fiberglass 22 gallon wasn't enough , if you can do anything with the plastic tank I took out let me know. Thanks...

Its the old adage "start with the simple stuff". If you had gas than it must be electrical. Hopefully its just a fuse/relay/ground and your back on the way!
